Disney pumpkin carving has is one of my favorite ways to celebrate Halloween (I’m not into spooky themes!).
I’ve been collecting these amazing designs from Insta all season, and they’ve given me so many ideas I can barely keep up.
From simple Mickey silhouettes to insanely detailed castle scenes. Some look easy enough for a Tuesday night. Others make me wonder if people have magical carving powers I don’t know about.
We’re talking very cool Disney pumpkin carving designs that’ll have your neighbors stopping to take photos.
If you’re looking to try this yourself, you can find some Disney Castle pumpkin carving stencils as well as Disney Princess pumpkin stencil sets on Amazon. The princess sets are general (they don’t always specify each character), but they’re a great starting point if you want something officially themed without designing from scratch.
And if you want to try to do some carving yourself without any stencils, here you have some beautiful idas for inspo!
Mickey’s Sorcerer Moment

This is Fantasia Mickey in full sorcerer mode, in that moment of the movie when he things he’s mastered magic but is about to lose control completely. This Disney Halloween pumpkin really captures that moment.
Tinker Bell Flying Through Starlight

Tinker Bell with all her pixie dust magic happening around her. Those tiny star holes must have taken forever to carve but it looks so pretty!. Also I keep staring at how delicate her wings look.
Toy Story’s Three-Eyed Sweethearts

These little green aliens always make me smile. This pumpkin carving idea is perfect if you want something fun instead of spooky. Kids go absolutely crazy for these guys, and honestly, so do I. Those ears sticking out from the sides give the whole pumpkin such personality.
Night Before Christmas

Now this is what I call relationship goals, pumpkin style. This nightmare before christmas pumpkin captures that perfect Tim Burton moment where Jack and Sally are together on the hill. The way the spiral uses the pumpkin’s natural curve is so smart. I’ve seen this movie probably fifty times, and this scene still gives me chills.

Easy Mickey Pumpkin Design

Sometimes simple wins. This mickey mouse pumpkin keeps everything clean and recognizable. Those round ears make it instantly Mickey, no question. I saw one of these sitting next to some little ceramic mushrooms, and it looked like something straight out of a fairy tale. Perfect for anyone wanting Disney magic without going crazy with details.
Hades with His Fiery Attitude

This Hades carving is absolutely perfect. That wild flame hair and that signature smirk that says he’s up to no good. The “SSMOKIN'” text carved into the side is such a nice touch. Hades was always my favorite Disney villain because he’s so sarcastic, and this pumpkin totally captures that energy.
Evil Queen’s Royal Intimidation

If you are looking for a spooky carving idea that is not 100% spooky because it’s still Disney, then The Evil Queen from Snow White can be a good design. This Disney pumpkin brings just the right amount of villain.
Disney Castle Masterpiece

Okay, whoever carved this castle design has serious skills. That Mickey head at the bottom with the entire castle rising above it, complete with tiny windows and firework dots everywhere. This would definitely steal the show in any Disney Halloween decorations lineup. You can get a Disney castle pumpkin stencil here (but you will have to make the Mickey silhouette yourself).
Ariel Pumpkin

Ariel’s flowing hair and distinctive silhouette against what appears to be ocean waves looks beautiful! What I also like is that the moon is very big, so it backlights her perfectly and gives you lots of glowing negative space to make the scene pop without overcomplicating the carving.
Monsters Inc Pumpkin Carving That’s Pure Genius

Mike Wazowski’s giant eye is absolutely perfect for pumpkin carving. This one captures his goofy personality so well with that huge grin and the little arms reaching out.
What I love about this monsters inc pumpkin carving is how recognizable it is even from far away. Kids are going to go crazy for this one on Halloween night.
Cheshire Cat Pumpkin Carving Idea

That mischievous smile is carved to perfection here. The Cheshire Cat’s wide grin and those knowing eyes make this such a fun choice. I kind of like this one for people who want something slightly spooky but still Disney.
The striped tail curling around adds such a nice touch. This cheshire cat pumpkin would look amazing with purple lighting inside instead of the usual orange.

Lady and the Tramp Unique and Cute Pumpkins

These matching silhouette pumpkins are couple goals honestly. You can see Lady and Tramp’s classic profiles sharing their famous spaghetti moment, and they’re positioned to face each other. This is one of my favorites for front porch displays.
The spaghetti strand connecting them is such a sweet detail. I recommend doing these as a pair if you have the time. The romantic vibe is perfect for Disney lovers who want something sweet rather than scary.

Elsa Pumpkin That Captures Frozen Magic

The detail work on Elsa’s braid and that little snowflake accent is incredible. This elsa pumpkin shows exactly why Frozen characters work so well for carving. Her flowing hair translates beautifully into pumpkin art.
This one looks challenging but so worth it. The face is instantly recognizable, and I bet it would look stunning with blue LED lighting instead of traditional candle glow.
Sulley from Monsters Inc Gets the Spotlight

This blue furry monster is perfectly carved with all those signature Sulley details. You can see his friendly horns and that sweet expression that made us all love him. The fur texture around his face shows some serious carving skills.
This monsters inc pumpkin carving is ideal for families wanting something fun but not intimidating for little kids. Sulley’s gentle nature comes through even in pumpkin form.
Cinderella Carriage Pumpkin Dreams Come True

This intricate carriage scene is absolutely magical. You can see the detailed carriage with its ornate wheels, and there are silhouettes of characters inside. The level of detail here is mind-blowing.
This cinderella carriage pumpkin is definitely for advanced carvers, but imagine how stunning this would look on your front steps. The fairy tale magic practically glows through those windows.
Ursula Pumpkin for Villain Lovers

Those tentacles swirling around Ursula’s face create such dramatic movement. The sea witch’s evil expression is perfectly captured, and I love how the tentacles seem to wrap around the entire pumpkin. This Ursula pumpkin is ideal for anyone who prefers Disney villains over princesses.
Cinderella’s Mice Magic

I’m obsessed with these little Cinderella mice. Look at those tiny whiskers and perfect little ears! I’ve seen plenty of Disney pumpkin carving attempts, but this level of detail makes my heart happy. The person who carved this clearly has serious patience. This would steal the show at any Disney Halloween party, honestly.
Simba Pumpkin

This Simba symbol gives me chills every single time I look at it. When it’s lit up like this, it reminds me of those golden sunset scenes from the movie. I recommend this one if you want something that looks complex but is actually pretty manageable to carve.
Princess Tiana’s Frog Kiss

Now this is romance carved into a pumpkin. I love how they captured that exact moment when Tiana kisses the frog. The silhouette style makes it feel so dreamy and elegant. This princess and the frog design would make me stop and stare if I saw it while trick-or-treating. It’s one of those unique pumpkin carving ideas that tells a whole story.
Monsters Inc Mike Wazowski

Mike Wazowski never fails to make me smile, and this carving nails his personality perfectly. That big round eye with the little horns on top is instantly recognizable from three blocks away. I think this monsters inc pumpkin would be the hit of the neighborhood. Kids are going to lose their minds when they see this glowing on your porch.
Toy Story Heroes Unite

Two legends side by side here, and I can’t even pick a favorite. The Buzz design shows off that space ranger helmet detail beautifully, while Woody’s cowboy hat is carved so perfectly you can almost hear him say “There’s a snake in my boot!” These toy story pumpkin carvings would solve the impossible problem of choosing just one character. Smart thinking.
Tools and Tricks for Perfect Disney Pumpkin Carving
If you want your pumpkins to actually look like the ones you’ve seen online, the right tools make all the difference.
- Precision pumpkin carving kit: multiple saws and detail tools help with delicate shapes — shop kits.
- Clay sculpting tools: great for cleaning and thinning carved areas without snapping thin sections — see options.
- LED pumpkin lights: safer than candles and won’t cook your design — browse lights.
- Pumpkin preservation spray: helps extend the life of your carvings — find sprays.
Making Your Disney Halloween Decor Last
Like I said you can use a pumpkin preservation spray. But if you are more of a DIY person, you can mix one part bleach with ten parts water and spray your finished pumpkin. It keeps these detailed Disney Halloween crafts looking fresh way longer than they should.
Also, skip the real candles. Battery LED lights won’t cook your masterpiece from the inside out, and you won’t worry about fire hazards all night.
These Disney Halloween decor ideas have completely changed how I think about pumpkin carving. Each design brings such different energy to Halloween night.
