I have a lot of toilet paper roll craft ideas, but I have to say that after creating so many with my kids, these are the best tips I can offer:

  • Begin to collect earlier! I maintain a basket in my restroom where the empty rolls go. You’ll have them when you least expect it!
  • Pre-paint if doable: If your audience is toddlers, roll the paint jobs the night before so they are ready for decorating. It saves a lot of time and a lot of patience.
  • Cover the floor with newspaper or a plastic tablecloth, arrange all supplies in cups or containers, and have the wet wipes available
  • Make more: Usually, kids want to make several versions, and honestly, grandparents love to receive these home-made treasures.
  • Let them take over: These craft ideas are just for fun, not perfection. If your child prefers a blue love bug instead of a red one, just do it!
